Rules for the stages: individuals or in collective courses

PERSONAL INSURANCE
You have to make a PERSONAL INSURANCE AGAINST
INJURIES DURING WORK. All stagists are obliged to provide a copy of their
own personal insurance to the direction on arrival for the inscription. In
case you don’t have one, we will turn you to our insurance company.

STONE
On the day of your arrival you will make your choice of the
material, price according to your wishes, sizes and type of stone. The
material is an additional cost for those who follow the individual stage.
For the collective course you will find your own standard piece of 20x20x20
cm of normal white Carrara marble ready on the wooden crate included on the
total cost.

LESSONS
The private lesson is hold by teachers following the traditional
phases of the artistic workmanship of stone, roughing out, pointing up,
finishing, polishing. You can either copy a model by using the techniques of
the art, either follow your own improvisation, without means of the model or
maquette. Each individual stagist can decide a personal training according
to its own basic skills and wishes, and the number of private lessons to
take. The use of the flexible machine must be approved by the direction, it
will be short and interposed by 10 minutes pauses. For collective
courses one teacher will be at disposal for 8 hours per day and will start
by learning how to use the tools by the hand, to eventually then move to the
air compressor machineries. This cost is included.

TOOLS
For individual stagists staying long periods we suggest buying
their own tools and making their own box to close them up. The direction is
not responsible for any lost or damage on your tools or machineries. To those who follow the collective course hand tools are given for rent
included in the price.

WORKING TIME
Mondays to Fridays 7-12 and 13 to 16. Those willing to
use the studios outside the normal working time must take special agreements
with the direction (min. 2 people). For security reasons the stay at the
studio is allowed only during work of our staff or after, if special
agreement is made with the direction.

ACCOMODATION
Some possibilities with varying prices and facilities are
suggested here below:
Room rental: for one months stays at least,
single room with use of kitchen and bathroom in common in the old part of
Carrara centre, 5 min. by walk from Studi Nicoli.
B&B Mariposa:
single or double rooms with Tv, internet wifi and private bathroom, 3 min.

Hotel Dora: in the west part of Carrara
centre, fully restored building, 5 min. away from us

Those who
follow the collective course will go on tour of marble quarries once and
once in Pisa. But we suggest everybody to organize their own trip to at
least Florence and the Cinque Terre.
